Lick
HEADLANDS CENTER FOR THE ARTS, MARIN, CA | 2009
Site-specific to the Headlands Center for the Arts in Marin, California, 'Lick' was installed on the west-facing wall - the Pacific Ocean right outside it's windows. Nature and it's primary motive -balance- is the main theme in 'Lick.' Water noises from the ocean come from the left side, Air noises (filtered through wind chimes) come from the right. The fundamental characteristics of these elements (water and air) are the most powerful forces on earth. Gentle wearing down of substance, shaping and re-shaping our environment.
SOUND: On-site ocean and wind recordings.
